Rippled Flag United States

Flag of the United States. The thirteen red and white stripes represent the thirteen colonies of the United Colonies that declared independence from Britain to become the original thirteen states of the United States. The fifty white stars on the blue field represent the fifty states of the United States.

This flag is the latest version adopted in 1960 that descends from the flag on the United States adopted in 1777 that first had a canton with a blue field and thirteen stars within the field. That flag succeeded the first flag of the United States and the United Colonies that had a Canton with the British flag of that time.
