Map of the expansion of the Hallstatt and La Tène cultures. They were the founding Celtic cultures in Europe that spread across Europe. The Hallstatt culture name is of its place of origin, what is now Hallstatt, Austria. The La Tène culture name is that of La Tène, Switzerland.
